Caption contest

OK, this picture has stunned me into abject horror. As I type this, I’m curled into a fetal position, wondering how in the world this can possibly be real. And yet, there it is:

Source: Reuters. Really. The Reuters caption, for the record:

U.S. President George W. Bush writes a note to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice during a Security Council meeting at the 2005 World Summit and 60th General Assembly of the United Nations in New York September 14, 2005. World leaders are exploring ways to revitalize the United Nations at a summit on Wednesday but their blueprint falls short of Secretary-General Kofi Annan’s vision of freedom from want, persecution and war.

  1. A) At least it isn't as bad as that Senator from Ok who was doing a cross-word during the Roberts hearing (yes he is a Republican)B) Wouldn't you drink a lot of cafinated beverages if you had to listen to a bunch of guys at the UN.C) When you got to go, you got to go.OneMan

  2. We all knew we would need a break at some point, but nobody anticipated that my bladder would breach in the middle of this session. No one could have predicted that.

  3. I have Al Qaeda in my pants.Barbara and Jenna aren't much for swimming but I have to drop the kids off at the pool, if you know what I mean. But since it was a security council meeting the most appropriate response is “bombs away!”

  4. “Knowing these realities, we must not ignore the threat gathering against us. Facing clear evidence of peril, we cannot wait for the final proof — the smoking gun — that could come in the form of a mushroom cloud.”

  5. This isn't mine, but I laughed when I saw this in the comments at fark.com (slightly paraphrased):”George W. Bush needs to go to the bathroom at the UN so he doesn't have to go to the bathroom at home.”

  6. Meh. I think he had to take a pee, and wasn't familiar with UN decorum. It's an innocent question, really. At least he's smart enough to ask if it's appropriate before just getting up and walking out. If he had done that, and it was against decorum, we'd all be railing him for that instead.POTUS is so beaten down right now, he's truly damnned if he does and damnned if he doesn't. He got himself into this mess…wait and see if Kenny Mehlman can construct some wins before the midterms…I like the Dems odds right now. George is a sinking ship, and imho, many will begin slowly untethering from his WH.
